Contracting Single Source Solutions (CS3, Inc) has been in the HVAC business for over 20 years.  While it's somewhat rare to run pipe on the outside of a building, CS3, Inc along with the design work of the SSR Ellers Engineering Firm will install over 30,000 feet of pipe at the West Tennessee State Penitentiary in Henning, TN.  Pipe is usually run underground because of aesthetics but to keep from having to continually dig up and replace problem areas in the pipe, the prison officials have chosen to have the pipe run above the ground for easy access when problems occur.  The specialty type of pipe they will use is Permapipe, which is specifically used for the outdoors and above the ground. 

Working at a prison has created unique challenges. CS3, Inc has to have every single tool checked and inventoried each time they enter the facility.  Each worker has to come out of the facility with exactly what they came in with.  They have a job trailer and some mobile storage units outside the prison walls so the work crew can take in the minimum amount of tools they need, and then come back to the tool storage area to swap them out. It takes more time to work this way, but it ensures safety for the prison.  While the job is still in its early stages things are well going and CS3, Inc is planning on it that way.
